A few weeks ago we had the chance to work with a 2015 Ford Mustang.

The Mustang first rolled out on the market back in 1962 and has seen a variety of changes over the decades.

The model is currently in it’s sixth generation, and is the first Mustang to be sold at the global level. Literally, everybody recognizes the car. We were very excited to receive this particular job. Being a newer vehicle, the 2015 Mustang model uses what is known as a Proximity Key, a fob that allows the driver to lock, unlock as well as activate the ignition within a acceptable range of the vehicle.

Provided the key is synched and programmed correctly, the fob will communicate to the car via radio signals.

The Proximity Key also contains an emergency standard key within the fob in the event the battery should fail.

The emergency key blade works like any other key; it can be used to manually lock, unlock and start the vehicle.
Programming a Smart Proximity Key is a hard job, and is a task reserved only for the most advanced auto locksmiths. The owner of the Mustang lost all of their keys, and so they contacted us, the experts, by phone. They provided all the necessary information and we set out to the vehicle site within a few short minutes. And, a short while later, we were able to program a couple of brand new Proximity Keys for this 2015 Ford Mustang.
